After Council member Joel Daves secured funding for a landscape enhancement project under the existing crepe myrtle trees in the median on Dauphin Street between Springhill Medical Center and McGregor Avenue, he reached out to The Village of Spring Hill, Inc., for assistance. He asked if the organization would design a landscape plan and oversee the installation of the project. The design included a selection of old varieties of plants that have been staples in the Mobile landscape for years and years. Also included in the project was new sod and an irrigation system.

The result of this partnership is another beautification initiative enjoyed by thousands of motorists traveling along the upper end of Dauphin Street.
