Bit And Spur Pocket Park

As an enhancement to the sidewalks constructed on Bit and Spur Road, The Village of Spring Hill, Inc. installed a pocket park at the entrance to The Gates subdivision. The park was made possible by a generous contribution from the Doy and Margaret McCall Family Foundation and gifts in memory of TVSH founding board member Sissy Hungerford, for whom a bench will also be placed. Two trees were planted in memory of Dennis McPoland, who was a resident of The Gates. The park also feature a piece of sculpture alluding to the history of the area.

The Bit and Spur neighborhood has been a vital part of Spring Hill life for decades. The stables that were located where the Convent of Mercy now stands were a source of enjoyment for generations of youngsters. Even the road takes its name from the Bit and Spur Riding Academy!
